Powhatan Lodge was founded on June 18, 1951 at the newly built Camp Powhatan in rural Pulaski County, Virginia. The Lodge was chartered under Blue Ridge Council #600 headquarted in Roanoke, Virginia and served 14 counties in Southwest Virginia. The Lodge was a member of Area III-C and hosted Pow-Wows in 1957, 1963, and 1968. The Lodge also hosted an Area III-C Training Conference in 1970. The Lodge's totem is an Indian in a war bonnet. Several of the Lodge's emblems feature mountains in the background, emblematic of the area in which the Lodge served. The Lodge was very active rendering many hours of service to both the Council and to the Reservation. In 1973 Powhatan Lodge merged with Koo Koo Ku Hoo Lodge to form Tutelo Lodge.
